Clayface keeps Singapore lead with FDI of 15.0 as Godzilla surges

Godzilla Minus Zero climbed from 22nd to third before opening, powered by Unlock advance tickets.

  • Clayface leads Singapore with an FDI of 15.0.
  • Godzilla Minus Zero rose 5.3 points in a week.
  • Wildwood grew 32% last weekend.

Clayface remains Singapore's most in-demand film, even as its lead narrowed and Godzilla Minus Zero turned tomorrow's opening into the week's sharpest move. The SEATmio Film Demand Index (FDI) measures a film's share, in percent, of all tickets SEATmio tracks in Singapore, combining tickets for the last 7 days with advance tickets for upcoming screenings. James Watkins' horror-thriller, from the director of Speak No Evil and Eden Lake, has an FDI of 15.0 after selling Unlock tickets in the last 7 days, with all ticket figures rounded SEATmio estimates.

The leader is losing altitude, but not position. Clayface fell 4.8 points over the week, while Street Fighter held second place with an FDI of 10.0 after overtaking Jailer 2 since last week. Kitao Sakurai's action-fantasy, from the director of Bad Trip, sold Unlock tickets in the last 7 days and still trails Clayface on current demand despite its video-game tournament premise and cast led by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo.

The biggest pressure now comes from Godzilla Minus Zero, which climbed from 22nd to third before release. Takashi Yamazaki's science-fiction action film, from the director of Godzilla Minus One, rose 5.3 points in a week to an FDI of 6.4, powered by Unlock advance tickets. In the race up the chart, it passed Jailer 2, Wildwood, Resident Evil and a long group of holdovers.

Wildwood also strengthened, climbing from fifth to fourth and overtaking Jailer 2 and Whalefall. The animated fantasy adventure about children drawn into a magical forest has an FDI of 5.3 and rose 1.4 points over the week. Jailer 2 moved the other way, slipping from second to fifth with an FDI of 5.2 after falling 10.3 points.

Last weekend, Clayface sold the most tickets with Unlock from October 30 to November 1, though it fell 32% from the previous weekend. Street Fighter followed with Unlock and fell 40%, while Jailer 2 took Unlock and fell 74%. Wildwood was the counter-move, rising 32% to Unlock, and V [CANTO] opened with Unlock.

Singapore productions remain visible below the top 10. The Violinist, an animated drama from Ervin Han and Raúl García set around aspiring musicians in wartime Singapore and postwar Southeast Asia, has an FDI of 2.0 after Unlock tickets in the last 7 days. Pace, Jonathan Choo's drama about a former prisoner rebuilding his life through marathon training, has an FDI of 1.5 and sold Unlock tickets.

The next wave arrives quickly. Godzilla Minus Zero opens on November 5 with the strongest advance position among upcoming titles, while The Cat in the Hat also opens that day with an FDI of 1.5. Event cinema is already on the board too: EXO PLANET #6 - EXhOrizon [dot] in CINEMAS opens November 8 with Unlock advance tickets, and Stray Kids World Tour 'RUN IT' LIVE VIEWING opens November 7 with Unlock.
