Heart of the Beast leads Belarus film demand with an FDI of 7.0

The Lord of Cold climbed from fifth to second, while Verity slid from first to seventh.

  • Heart of the Beast leads Belarus with an FDI of 7.0.
  • Clayface rose 4.8 points in a week.
  • Wicker arrives tomorrow with an FDI of 0.4.

Heart of the Beast has taken the Belarus lead from Verity, scoring 7.0 on the SEATmio Film Demand Index (FDI) as The Lord of Cold surged into second place with 6.7. The FDI is a film's share, in percent, of all tickets SEATmio tracks in Belarus: tickets for the last 7 days of screenings plus advance tickets for screenings still to come. Heart of the Beast sold Unlock tickets over the past week and has Unlock advance tickets; all ticket totals cited are rounded SEATmio estimates.

David Ayer's adventure-thriller, from the director of The Beekeeper and Fury, stars Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons in a survival story about a Special Forces officer and his combat dog stranded after a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness. Its path to first place came despite weaker momentum: its FDI fell 4.1 points. Verity fell 6.5 points and dropped from first to seventh, which allowed Heart of the Beast to pass it.

The Lord of Cold is now the main pressure point on the leader. Eduard Bordukov's family fantasy, from the director of On the Edge, rose 1.5 points and climbed from fifth to second, overtaking Verity, Race to Monte Carlo and Resident Evil. Race to Monte Carlo, from Ilya Malanin, the director of Extraordinary, held third place with 6.6 after falling 2.0 points, with its early-automobile adventure still drawing Unlock tickets over the past week.

Family titles thickened the middle of the race. Wonder Beast moved from sixth to fourth with 5.9 after rising 1.4 points, while A Tale of Lost Times climbed from seventh to fifth with 5.7 after rising 1.8 points. Both titles have Unlock advance tickets, giving the family corridor a visible base beyond this week's admissions.

The week's sharpest chart move belonged to Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, which climbed from 22nd to sixth. The animated family comedy rose 4.7 points to 5.6, driven by a Halloween farm story in which Shaun's science experiments go wrong after the Farmer ruins the pumpkin patch. It sold Unlock tickets over the past week and has Unlock advance tickets.

Clayface was the biggest riser by points, up 4.8 points to 5.2 after selling Unlock tickets. That put it in eighth place, just behind Verity, while Resident Evil slid from fourth to tenth after falling 3.8 points. The churn below the top three shows how quickly late-October releases are reshaping the Belarus chart.

Last weekend, Heart of the Beast also sold the most tickets, leading with Unlock while falling 22% from the previous weekend. Verity followed with Unlock and was down 33%. Clayface opened in third with Unlock, while Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom opened in fifth with Unlock.

The next new title is Wicker, which opens November 5 with an FDI of 0.4 in 33rd place. Directed by Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer, the romance-fantasy comedy stars Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage and Elizabeth Debicki in a story about a ridiculed Fisherwoman who commissions herself a husband made from wicker. Its early demand is well outside the current front-runners, but it is the only listed opening in Belarus over the next 21 days.
