Кул seizes Kyrgyzstan lead with an FDI of 60.2

Aitmatov held second place with Unlock tickets in the last seven days, keeping a local drama near the top.

  • Кул rose 59.7 points in seven days to lead Kyrgyzstan.
  • Aitmatov sold Unlock tickets in the last seven days.
  • Wanted Santa opens on November 5 with an FDI of 0.2.

Кул has taken control of Kyrgyzstan’s cinema demand race, vaulting from 17th place to first with an FDI of 60.2 after opening on October 29. The SEATmio Film Demand Index (FDI) is a film’s share, in percent, of all tickets SEATmio tracks in the country, including tickets for the last seven days of screenings and advance tickets for upcoming screenings. SEATmio ticket counts in this article are rounded estimates, and Кул has Unlock tickets from the last seven days plus Unlock in advance sales.

The new leader overtook Aitmatov, Жалын, Beibashtar and a long field of holdovers and new releases since last week, rising 59.7 points in seven days. Its lead is now clear: Aitmatov has an FDI of 22.4 in second place, while Whalefall is third with an FDI of 2.7. That gap makes Кул the market’s defining title for the week, even as the films behind it are fighting over a much narrower band of demand.

Aitmatov remains the key local production, even after sliding from first to second and falling 38.8 points. Kanybek Kalmatov’s drama stars Arina Isakova, Emil Esenaliev and Sergey Bezrukov in a biopic tracing Chingiz Aitmatov’s childhood, the loss of his father and the struggle that shaped his literary voice. It still sold Unlock tickets in the last seven days and has Unlock advance tickets, keeping a Kyrgyz story firmly near the top of the market.

Whalefall made the sharpest move among the international titles behind Кул, climbing from 27th to third and passing Жалын, Beibashtar and The Odyssey along the way. Brian Duffield’s thriller, from the director of No One Will Save You and Spontaneous, stars Austin Abrams and Josh Brolin in the story of a diver trapped inside a sperm whale with limited oxygen. The film rose 2.7 points and sold Unlock tickets in the last seven days.

The chase pack is otherwise reshuffling. Жалын fell from second to fourth with an FDI of 2.6, while The Odyssey climbed from 23rd to fifth with an FDI of 1.8. Christopher Nolan’s adventure, from the director of The Dark Knight and Interstellar, follows Odysseus on a perilous journey home, and it rose 1.7 points after opening on October 29.

Last weekend confirmed the same hierarchy. Кул led the October 30 to November 1 frame with Unlock tickets after opening, ahead of Aitmatov with Unlock tickets as it fell 43% from the previous weekend. Whalefall also opened in third with Unlock tickets, while Жалын fell 32% and The Odyssey opened with Unlock tickets.

The next wave arrives on November 5, but early demand is modest. Wanted Santa, James Huth’s family comedy about an 8-year-old trying to force Santa to grant her Christmas wish, leads the incoming films with an FDI of 0.2. The Cat in the Hat has an FDI of 0.1, while a special screening of Специальный показ фильма «Фьорд» с обсуждением also has an FDI of 0.1.
